The upcoming anime Sekai Saikyō no Majo, Hajimemashita (世界最強の魔女、始めました) — loosely translated as I Started as the World’s Strongest Witch — has released the synopsis and advance scene cuts for its first episode, “I Tried Using the Internet! (インターネットを使ってみた！)”, set to air on Wednesday, October 7, 2026.
About the Series
The anime is based on the light novel Sekai Saikyō no Majo, Hajimemashita ～Watashi dake “Kōryaku Site” wo Mireru Sekai de Jiyū ni Ikimasu～, written by Sakaki Mochimaru with illustrations by riritto, published under Square Enix’s SQEX Novel imprint. A manga adaptation by Toga Tamaki also runs in Kodansha’s Tsuki Manga Kichi. The series blends isekai fantasy with comedy and heartfelt moments, directed by Furuta Joji with animation production by Bridge / AIR.
Episode 1 Synopsis
Lona Hermit, born into the prestigious Gugure Kāsu family, is unjustly expelled at age 15 after manifesting what everyone assumes is a worthless skill. Undeterred, she sets off on a journey with an upbeat attitude — only to discover that her skill, 【Internet】, is actually an SSS-rank cheat ability that lets her freely search and browse all information in this world, functioning like a game wiki. Following its guidance through a forest, Lona effortlessly obtains the most powerful cheat weapon in the current meta, and just like that, the free-spirited adventure of the “world’s strongest witch” — who only ever wanted a quiet life — begins.
