The upcoming TV anime Shin Tennis no Oujisama U-17 WORLD CUP Kessho Member Kettei-sen (New Prince of Tennis U-17 World Cup: Finals Member Selection) has unveiled a new key visual and promotional video, along with the announcement of four additional voice cast members who will portray the Spain national team. Hatakenaka Yu, Kawashima Reiji, Nagaoka Ryuho, and Han Megumi have all been confirmed for the roles.

Series Background

Prince of Tennis, the tennis manga by Konomi Takeshi, began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1999 and was first adapted into a TV anime in 2001. This latest installment is the third entry in the U-17 WORLD CUP anime series and is set to premiere on TV Tokyo, TV Osaka, and TV Aichi on September 30, 2026.

Story Synopsis

Having defeated Germany — the strongest team in the world — Ryoma and his Japan teammates now stand on the cusp of the world championship, with the final against Spain on the horizon. However, coach Mifune decides to hold an internal selection match to determine who will actually take the court in the final, believing that “Japan’s strength lies in its growth during matches.” This forces teammates who have fought side by side to clash against one another, putting pride and passion on the line.

I was genuinely overjoyed when I found out I’d been cast. It’s a true honor to join the world of Prince of Tennis, which has been loved by so many for so long. Bambieri is taciturn and cool on the surface, but I sense a burning passion within him — a very compelling character. I’ve taken great care in portraying that appeal, so I hope you’ll look forward to his appearance!

Han Megumi (as Seda)

Becoming a character in Prince of Tennis has been a dream of mine since childhood — a world I’ve longed for as long as I can remember. Over time, it became a shared dream with my closest friends. Believing this audition might be my last chance, I poured everything into it alongside my manager. I am so proud to be involved as Seda in the Spain arc, which I’ve followed with burning passion in the original manga. I’m grateful for every connection that led me here.
