TV anime Shuiro no Kamen (朱色の仮面) is set to premiere on October 10, 2026, airing every Saturday at 5:30 p.m. on Yomiuri TV and the Nippon TV network nationwide in Japan (excluding some regions). The announcement came alongside the release of the second main PV, a second key visual, theme song details, and six additional cast members.

Story

Based on the manga serialized in Young King Ours (Shōnen Gahosha) — written by Dr.Poro and drawn by Nabana Naba — Shuiro no Kamen is a mask-battle fantasy. The protagonist Pel is an apprentice to a legendary mask craftsman, but after being manipulated by a powerful mask, he unintentionally kills his companions and master. Vowing to prevent such tragedy from ever happening again, he sets out to destroy every mask his master left behind, encountering trustworthy allies and formidable enemies along the way. The series will air in a split two-cour format.

Second Main PV

The new PV opens on “the night of tragedy” that set everything in motion, depicting a young Pel weeping as he hammers a mask, and later shouting at the Takegami no Kamen (Mask of the War God): “I am the worst kind of villain. I will never let tragedy happen again — I will destroy every one of Master’s masks!” The PV also showcases Pel’s action sequences using spider, chameleon, and cat masks against powerful foes, as well as glimpses of Sonare Meywood (CV: Yamamoto Yuki) and Moku Sharib (CV: Urawa Nozomi).

Theme Songs

MAN WITH A MISSION commented that they wanted to craft a powerful song to support the adventure of boys burdened by a cruel fate, resulting in “Firestarter.” yutori reflected that even if the past cannot be erased, pressing forward while carrying it is something that surely resonates with our own daily lives.

Second Key Visual

The new key visual features Pel, Sonare, and Moku with sharp, determined gazes, while behind them loom the Takegami no Kamen — the root of Pel’s atonement — and the series’ antagonists, all set against a vivid crimson background that hints at the turbulent story ahead.

Additional Cast

• Hien — voiced by Kenji Nojima: A member of Lisbran’s governing unit who looks up to Gowon like a father. After a certain incident, he comes to despise Pel and pursues him.
• Lasgirl — voiced by Aoi Koga: A book-loving woman who wields a sound-controlling mask; her personality transforms completely in battle.
• Crown — voiced by Yuki Shin: A shadowy figure who operates behind the scenes to collect masks.
• Rinne — voiced by Akihisa Wakayama: A powerful antagonist whose ideology aligns with the Shiryō no Kamen (Mask of the Dead), aiming to kill and control all of humanity.
• Shiryō no Kamen (Mask of the Dead) — voiced by Aya Endo: A mask capable of reviving the dead as “shiryō” (undead spirits) under its control.
• Master — voiced by Yui Horie: A mysterious woman who wields the “Mask of Dreams.”
