The production team behind TV anime Tempal ~The Power of Items~ (テムパル～アイテムの力～) has officially released the synopsis, advance preview cuts, and a web trailer for Episode 1: “Legendary Job Change”.
Episode 1 Synopsis
The story is set inside “SATISFY”, the world’s largest VR game, where fame and fortune earned in-game carry real-world weight. Greed — real name Nagamine Takumi — is a player desperate to change his life by striking it rich in the game. He takes on an S-Rank Quest commissioned by Count Ashlew in a cave at the far northern reaches of the map.
Crushed by the pressure of in-game microtransactions, Greed nonetheless manages to obtain a Legendary Item: the “Fagma’s Tome”, a mysterious book that allows the holder to change their job to “Descendant of Fagma” — a one-of-a-kind class that exists nowhere else in the game.
Greed figures he could sell the item for far more than the quest reward, but breaching his contract with the Count puts a target on his back. With nowhere left to run, he makes the fateful decision to use the tome and change jobs — only to find his level drop into the negatives, forcing him to restart the game in a nearly bare state.
Crossover Illustration with Solo Leveling
Ahead of the anime’s premiere, REDICE STUDIO — the webtoon studio behind both series — released a special original crossover illustration featuring Tempal and Solo Leveling (俺だけレベルアップな件). The artwork depicts Greed, the protagonist of Tempal, facing off against Sung Jinwoo, the protagonist of Solo Leveling, in a striking pose.
