The official team behind TV anime Tensei Shitara Ken Deshita II (Reincarnated as a Sword II) has released the synopsis and advance scene cuts for Episode 1, along with a web preview video narrated by Miki Shin’ichiro (voice of Master) and Kakuma Ai (voice of Fran).
Episode 1: “What’s Floating in the Sky Is an Island”
Based on the novel series by Tanaka Yu (GC Novels / Micro Magazine), the series follows a man reincarnated as a sword in another world and his adventures alongside Fran, a cat-eared girl who calls him “Master” — a fantasy subgenre sometimes dubbed “inanimate-object isekai.”
In the Season 2 premiere, titled “What’s Floating in the Sky Is an Island,” Master and Fran are making their way toward the port town of Darz when they discover a floating island mid-journey. They are intercepted by skeleton knights and sent plummeting to the ground, where they encounter the necromancer Jean Douby, voiced by Uchida Yuma.
Collaboration with Katainaka no Ossan, Kensei ni Naru II
A collaboration visual with TV anime Katainaka no Ossan, Kensei ni Naru II (The Countryside Ossan Becomes a Sword Saint II) has also been unveiled. The artwork highlights the shared theme of “guidance” across both series — Fran growing under the direction of her sword-master, and sword saint Beryl guiding his disciples through the blade. Both shows center on the bond between teacher and student.
To celebrate the collaboration, both series’ official X (Twitter) accounts are running a campaign to give away postcards featuring the collab visual.
