Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 39, published today (August 24) by Shueisha, features a special one-shot chapter of The Promised Neverland (約束のネバーランド), the manga series written by Kaiu Shirai and illustrated by Posuka Demizu.
The Promised Neverland is an escape-fantasy manga following three children — Emma, Ray, and Norman — who live in Grace Field House, an orphanage cut off from the outside world. The series began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2016 and concluded at 20 volumes.
The one-shot was created to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the series’ launch and picks up directly after the manga’s final chapter, telling the story of Aishe, a girl who was raised by demons.
Free Reading Campaign and Full-Color Digital Editions
To coincide with the anniversary, Shonen Jump+ and Zebrack are offering free access to episodes up through Volume 10 for a limited time, until August 31.
Additionally, a full-color digital edition of The Promised Neverland is being released, fully supervised by Demizu. Volumes 1–10 will go on sale on September 4, with Volumes 11–20 scheduled for release in autumn.
