The official website for the television anime adaptation of Kōcha Agasawa‘s manga The Ramparts of Ice (Koori no Jyōheki) began streaming a second promotional video for its second season, offering fans a first listen to the opening theme song “Escort” performed by four-piece band THE BEAT GARDEN.
Premiere & Broadcast Details
Season 2 is set to premiere on October 1, airing every Thursday at 11:56 p.m. JST on TBS and 27 affiliated channels — the same timeslot as the first season. The season will also be available to stream on Netflix and other services in Japan.
Story
The series follows Koyuki Hikawa, a reserved high school student who struggles to open up to others and keeps people at arm’s length. Despite her best efforts, classmate Minato Amemiya persistently tries to get close to her. The story traces the complicated youth of four characters: Koyuki and Minato, alongside the popular Miki and the easygoing Yōta.

About the Manga
Agasawa, also known for You and I Are Polar Opposites, originally serialized The Ramparts of Ice as a webtoon on the LINE Manga app from January 2020 to April 2022. Shueisha published the 14th and final compiled volume in February 2025.
The manga has earned considerable recognition: it ranked #15 for male readers in the Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2024 guidebook, received a nomination for the 69th Shogakukan Manga Awards in 2023, placed second in the “Vertical Scroll Comic” category of the second Rakuten Kobo E-book Awards in May 2024, and ranked #2 on AnimeJapan’s sixth “Most Wanted Anime Adaptation” poll in 2023.
