To mark the 10th anniversary of the stage production 「刀剣乱舞」(Touken Ranbu Stage) — affectionately known among fans as “Tou-Ste” — leading actors Suzuki Hiroki (鈴木拡樹), who plays Mikatsuki Munechika, and Aramaki Yoshihiko (荒牧慶彦), who plays Yamaubagiri Kunihiro, will appear on the cover and back cover respectively of a special edition of women’s weekly magazine 「anan」. The issue goes on sale nationwide in Japan on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at bookstores, convenience stores, and online retailers.
From Game to Legendary 2.5D Stage Series
Touken Ranbu Stage is based on the PC browser and smartphone game 「刀剣乱舞ONLINE」, in which famous Japanese swords are reimagined as warrior figures called “Touken Danshi” who battle enemies attempting to alter history. The stage adaptation launched in 2016 and has since grown into one of the most beloved 2.5D theatre franchises in Japan. This autumn, the series celebrates its milestone with a special commemorative production: 「刀剣乱舞 陽伝 月と太陽と星々よ」.
A Meticulously Crafted Special-Edition Cover
For this special edition, Suzuki Hiroki and Aramaki Yoshihiko were photographed in a studio, delivering the same precise swordsmanship and movement they bring to the stage. Both the front cover and back cover feature intricate specialty printing that highlights every detail of the swords and costumes painstakingly crafted by the production’s design team.
24 Pages of Full-Color Gravure Featuring All 13 Cast Members
Beyond the two leads, the magazine’s interior features solo photo shoots and individual interviews with all 13 Touken Danshi performers appearing in the “陽伝” run, along with a full group shot. The complete cast lineup is as follows:
