REMOW has unveiled additional cast members, a new key visual, and a new promotional video for the Tougen Anki: Nikko Kegon Falls Arc television anime, adapted from Yura Urushibara‘s Tougen Anki: Dark Demon of Paradise manga. The studio also confirmed the anime’s premiere date of October 2.

Hiromitsu Kitayama performs the opening theme “Backlash,” while TRACK15 handles the ending theme “Hand in Hand.”

Broadcast Schedule
Two special recap episodes will precede the new arc: the Kyoto arc recap airs on September 30, followed by the Nerima arc recap on October 1. The Nikko Kegon Falls Arc then officially premieres on October 2. For viewers outside Japan, streaming begins at 25:00 JST (effectively 1:00 a.m. on October 3).

Arc Synopsis
Having survived the brutal battles in Kyoto and Nerima, Shiki and his fellow students at Rasetsu Academy continue to grow stronger. However, Yaoroshi rejects Mudano’s teachings on the value of friendship and is drawn to Oni Brigade General Hayate Todoroki’s rallying cry for “the total eradication of the Momotaro,” ultimately leaving the academy behind.
When Shiki learns that the Oni Brigade’s ideology marks even non-combatants as targets for slaughter, he sets out after Yaoroshi alongside Mudano and the other students. Their destination is Nikko, where Kegon Falls has long since stopped flowing and a massive research facility now stands in its place — a facility where horrific experiments are underway.
Staff
The anime is directed by Ato Nonaka at Studio Hibari, with Hiroyuki Hashimoto serving as assistant director. Yukie Sugawara (The Idolm@ster SideM, No Guns Life, The Unwanted Undead Adventurer) is in charge of series composition, and Ryoko Amisaki (Kino’s Journey – The Beautiful World) is designing the characters. Music is composed by Kohta Yamamoto, with Pony Canyon handling music production. A short companion anime, Onimomomomo, also releases weekly alongside the main series.
About the Manga
Urushibara launched Tougen Anki in Akita Publishing’s Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine in June 2020. The 30th compiled volume shipped on July 8. Yen Press has been publishing the English edition since September 2024, with the fifth volume released on May 26. The manga has also inspired two stage plays — the original ran in Tokyo and Osaka in February 2024, and a sequel ran in January 2025.
