The light novel series Tsuihō Sareta Shōnin wa Kin no Chikara de Sekai wo Sukū (roughly: Exiled Merchant Saves the World with the Power of Money), written by Daken with illustrations by Kasane Bench, has been announced for a television anime adaptation. The production staff have already released character visuals for protagonist Torao and the members of the adventurer party Garnet.
Story
The series centers on Torao, a merchant and member of the S-rank adventurer party “Blue Ring.” Despite enforcing strict frugality on his companions, he is discovered secretly diverting party funds to support an all-female adventurer party called “Garnet,” and is promptly expelled from Blue Ring. His warnings go unheeded, and Blue Ring is subsequently wiped out by the Demon King. Torao then joins forces with Garnet, embarking on a quest to defeat the Demon King, reclaim his former party’s equipment, and solve every obstacle by throwing money at it.
Manga Adaptation Launches on Comic PASH!
Alongside the anime announcement, a manga adaptation has begun serialization on the Comic PASH! website, published by Shufu to Seikatsu Sha. The manga is drawn by Sen Higashiyama, with story composition handled by Masahiro Itosugi.
Origins
Author Daken, known for Who Killed the Hero?, first published the story as a web novel on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in March 2023. The print light novel edition, featuring illustrations by Kasane Bench, launched in March 2024.
