With the Summer 2026 anime season now underway and most titles having aired their first episodes, fan attention has turned not only to the stories themselves but also to the opening theme songs — those 90-second windows that distil each series’ world into music and visuals.
To find out which OP has resonated most, Anime!Anime! conducted a reader poll titled “Summer 2026 Anime Theme Songs — Which Track Do You Like?” Voting ran from 16 July to 23 July. Respondents were split almost evenly between male and female. By age group, viewers 19 and under and those in their 20s each accounted for roughly 20% of votes, while the 30s bracket was the largest at approximately 35%.
Standout OPs from New Manga Adaptations
Several highly anticipated manga adaptations debuted this season with equally anticipated theme songs. Among the most talked-about is the opening for 「天幕のジャードゥーガル」(Tenmaku no Jaadugal), performed by SEKAI NO OWARI, which generated considerable buzz among fans.
Character-Song OPs Also Draw Strong Support
The poll also highlighted the popularity of character-song-style opening themes. The OP for 「ONE PIECE HEROINES」, performed by Aina the End, was among the tracks that attracted notable attention from voters.
OPs from Established Franchises Not to Be Missed
Another frequently mentioned entry is the opening for 「これ描いて死ね」(Kore Kaite Shine), performed by Kitani Tatsuya, an artist who has built a strong reputation for anime tie-in tracks in recent years.
