Suiseisha announced that Waji‘s boys-love manga Wakareru Tame ni Irojikake Shite Mita (published in English as Waji’s Trying to Break up With Sex) is getting an anime adaptation as part of the AnimeFesta programming block. The broadcast timing and cast details will be revealed at a later date.
Story
The manga follows Makoto, who desperately wants to break up with his boyfriend but keeps finding himself more hopelessly drawn to him instead. After an unexpected night of drinking, Makoto stumbles into a relationship with Yagi. Despite attempting to end things more than 50 times, every effort has ended in failure.
Running out of options, Makoto decides to try a new tactic: since Yagi claims he dislikes aggressive people, Makoto resolves to act that way and make Yagi hate him. But the plan backfires spectacularly, sending their relationship in a direction neither of them anticipated.
Manga Background
The manga launched digitally on the ComicFesta website in June 2024 under Pachika’s .Nonfine label. Suiseisha released the first compiled volume in July 2025, followed by the second volume on April 17. A third printing of the first volume is scheduled to begin on June 16. English-language readers can access the manga through Coolmic, MangaPlaza, and Renta!.
About AnimeFesta
AnimeFesta is an anime programming block operated by WWWave Corporation, which also runs the ComicFesta web manga service. Over the past eight years — operating previously under the names Anime Zone and ComicFesta Anime — AnimeFesta has produced short anime adaptations of more than 30 ComicFesta manga titles, many of which feature adult or risqué content.
The block’s first anime was Sōryo to Majiwaru Shikiyoku no Yoru ni… (On a Lustful Night Mingling with a Priest), whose Japanese title inspired fans to dub the AnimeFesta style “Sōryo-waku.” Most series in the block release in two versions: a censored “broadcast” version for television and an uncensored “premium” version distributed online. WWWave Corporation publishes many of the titles in English via Coolmic and has recently begun releasing anime through OceanVeil as well.
