Bandai Namco Filmworks has released the first full promotional video and new visuals for the television anime adaptation of Witch and Mercenary (魔女と傭兵, Majo to Yōhei), the light novel series by Kaeru Chōhōkiteki. The video confirms an April 2027 premiere on NTV and 29 affiliated channels, as well as the satellite channel BS NTV.

- Yuri Noguchi as Isana Gihon, a swordmaster (adventurer rank 2) nicknamed “Snow White”
- Hiromu Mineta as Alan Clows, a swordmaster (adventurer rank 4) and party leader

The anime is being produced at 8-Bit under the direction of Shinpei Ezaki (Vivy -Fluorite Eye’s Song-, Hanebad!, Monster Strike The Movie). Taishirou Tanimura (Ace of Diamond, Sakura Trick) is handling series scripts, Keita Matsumoto (Bungaku Shōjo film, Persona 5 the Animation -The Day Breakers-) is designing the characters, Akiko Fujita (Dorohedoro, Jujutsu Kaisen, The Elusive Samurai) is serving as sound director, and Rei Ishizuka (A Couple of Cuckoos, PriPara) is composing the music at Lantis.
About the Story
Kaeru Chōhōkiteki originally serialized the story on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website from June 2021 to December 2022. Micro Magazine began publishing the print edition with illustrations by Bench Kanase in May 2023. The seventh volume went on sale January 20, with the eighth volume scheduled for September 24. Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the novels in English.
The story follows Siasha, a witch whom the world regards as the ultimate threat — capable of summoning floods, conjuring fireballs, or toppling entire nations. After yet another desperate fight for survival, she joins forces with Zig Crane, a mercenary, and the two set off for uncharted lands in search of a place where she can finally live in peace — only to find lost magic and fearsome monsters waiting for them along the way.
A manga adaptation by Makoto Miyagi has been running on Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket app since January 2024, with an English release available through Kodansha’s K MANGA service.
