On June 7, an advance screening event for the TV anime 「令和のダラさん」(Reiwa no Dara-san) was held at United Cinema Toyosu in Tokyo. The stage guests included Mutsumi Tamura as Dara-san, Minami Tsuda as Hinata Misogiya, Momoka Terasawa as Kaoru Misogiya and Kei Fuki, the official cosplayer for the work.

Atmosphere at the event

Tamura, Tsuda and Terasawa walked through the audience hall to the stage amid loud applause. When Fuki appeared in a Dara-san cosplay that perfectly matched the character, the three voice actors cheered and showed clear excitement. It marked the first time the four had gathered together since AnimeJapan 2026.

The difficulty of the Kansai dialect

During the talk about Episodes 1 and 2 screened at the event, Tsuda and Terasawa smiled as they described how Hinata and Kaoru are not afraid of Dara-san at all, even though Dara-san is supposed to be something people fear. Both also admitted that voicing Kansai dialect while reading the script was very difficult. Tamura added that some lines required her to try speaking in Kansai dialect, but she kept stumbling whenever she thought about it.

The three then asked Fuki, who is actually from Osaka, what she thought of their dialect. Fuki answered that she had not watched the anime yet and would wait until after it aired, causing all three to exclaim in unison, “Yabai!”

The version that cannot air on TV: “Not just about being sexy”

A major highlight of the event was the screening of the 「令和の時代に大丈夫なの!? Ver.」, a version that will not air on television. Although details were not revealed to avoid spoilers, the cast said the content in this version is “not just about being sexy” and definitely includes imagery unsuitable for children. At the same time, this version also reveals Dara-san’s painful past, creating a sharp contrast with the present-day storyline.

New characters and cast revealed at the event

One important character discussed at length was Ane Miko, voiced by Saori Hayami. She is an exorcist from a family of ritual specialists who once defeated the demon “Tanimatabu” together with her younger sister, and she has a deep connection to Dara-san. All the cast members agreed that Hayami’s performance in these scenes was “very scary,” because outside the recording booth she seems gentle, but once she starts acting she becomes a completely different person.

Several new cast members were also announced:

• Aoi Koga as Hatsusegawa Shuu
• Tomokazu Sugita as Fudeki Naomichi
• Mai Aizawa as Isoko Miwa
• Houchu Otsuka as Orochi, also known as Tanimatabu

The staff encouraged viewers to watch for Shuu’s differences, Fudeki’s “moist” quality, Miwa’s spooky cuteness and Orochi’s pitiable side.

Episode 3 highlights and fun moments from the event

Each stage guest wrote keywords and drew sketches in a sketchbook to introduce the highlights of Episode 3. Terasawa’s drawing drew a big reaction because it depicted a scene that exists only in the anime, while Tsuda’s solid black drawing became a topic of debate because Tamura and Fuki said they had no idea what it was. Only Terasawa understood it. The drawing will later be posted on the work’s official X (Twitter) account.

It was also revealed that Kei Fuki took part in an actual voice recording session and will appear as a voice actor in one episode of the series. To close the event, Mutsumi Tamura delivered final remarks on behalf of all the stage guests.

Anime information

Reiwa no Dara-san is based on the manga by Haruomi Tomotsuka. It follows Dara-san, a cursed deity living deep in the mountains, and the children of the family that manages the mountain, in a supernatural comedy format. The anime is scheduled to air from July 2, 2026 on TOKYO MX, Kantele, BS Nittele and AT-X.
