The popular Kinnikuman STATION pop-up event — packed with Kinnikuman apparel, figures, and lifestyle goods — is heading to Ekimaru À La Mode, JR Kyoto Station West Exit from Friday, June 19 to Thursday, June 25. This marks the event’s first-ever appearance in the Kansai region, having previously been held exclusively in the Kanto area and eastern Japan. Hours are 10:00–21:00 daily, with an early close at 18:00 on the final day.
About Kinnikuman
Kinnikuman is a martial-arts manga by the duo Yudetamago — writer Takashi Shimada and artist Yoshinori Nakai — which began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1979. It follows the bumbling alien superhero Kinnikuman as he grows from an underdog into the mightiest fighter in the superhero world through effort, friendship, and victory. The series continues today in Weekly Playboy and Shupure NEWS, with cumulative sales surpassing 77 million volumes.
The original anime launched in 1983, and the spin-off toy line “Kinkeshi” became a massive cultural phenomenon, selling over 180 million figures. A new anime series, Kinnikuman: Perfect Origin Arc, aired Season 1 from July to September 2024 and Season 2 from January to March 2025, continuing the story from the previously animated “Throne Succession Arc.” Season 3 has already been confirmed.
