The dark fantasy manga Jévaudan toiu Kemono ～Rōgoku de Onna wo Musaboru Moto-Ningen no Saikyō Monster wa, Fukushū no Prison Break wo Kuwadateru～ has launched its first volume today, June 15. The series is drawn by Makita Ron and based on an original story by Akadashi Nameko.
Story
At the heart of the series is a creature known as the Tōsatsuki — a grotesque monster that spreads terror and death within a prison. The protagonist, referred to only as “I,” was once human but was betrayed by his own kind and captured by aliens, who then transformed him into a Tōsatsuki. Though fragments of his human memories remain, he cannot recall his own name or even speak, and is treated as less than a slave. Driven by a burning desire for revenge, he resolves to break out of his prison and reclaim what was taken from him.
Serialization
The manga runs in COMIC Nero, the adult seinen label published by FlexComics.
