Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM is teaming up with Japanese sports eyewear brand SWANS for a new collaboration item: the STRICT-G SWANS Sunglasses Athrun Zala Model. The item goes on sale on 4 July 2026 at STRICT-G stores nationwide, with pre-orders already open via Premium Bandai.
About the Gundam SEED Series
The Mobile Suit Gundam SEED series is set in the Cosmic Era (C.E.), a future where humanity is divided between genetically engineered Coordinators and naturally born Naturals. The first series began airing in 2002, followed by Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY as its sequel. The theatrical film Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM, released on 26 January 2024, went on to become the highest-grossing Gundam theatrical release of all time.
Athrun Zala is a ZAFT soldier who once fought against his childhood friend Kira, but came to recognize the futility of their enmity and chose to fight alongside him. In SEED FREEDOM, he is affiliated with the ORB military and seconded to Terminal.

The sunglasses are based on SWANS’ sports model STRIX D.A., designed for extended outdoor activities such as cycling and golf. The frame features flexible temples that wrap comfortably around the head and adjustable nose pads for a secure, customisable fit.
The design draws on Athrun’s image with a purple frame and straight smoke lenses featuring a rear multi-coat anti-reflection treatment. The frame is engraved with “ATHRUN ZALA”, and the set includes an original logo semi-hard case.
