Volume 7 of Cake×Bomb, the shojo manga by Ari Sano (佐野愛莉), went on sale on June 26 from Shogakukan. To mark the release, a TV commercial and a promotional video have been unveiled — both presented in a unique live sports commentary style.

What Is the “Cakeverse”?

Cake×Bomb is set in a world known as the Cakeverse, where humanity is divided into three distinct groups: Forks, a privileged upper class; Cakes, those who are “eaten” by Forks; and ordinary people who belong to neither category.

Story Overview

The protagonist, Shirahanato (白花), attends the prestigious Somei Gakuen Academy on a scholarship. She endures daily bullying at the hands of Toga (燈我), the school’s most powerful student — and a Fork. Everything changes, however, when she stumbles upon a shocking truth: Toga is actually a Cake, while she herself is a Fork.

Live-Commentary CM and PV

Both the TV commercial and the PV present the pivotal moment when the two characters discover each other’s true identities, narrated in a live sports broadcast style and accompanied by panels from the manga. The format brings a fresh, energetic spin to the story’s central twist.

Volume 7 also includes newly drawn bonus pages (kakioroshi) created exclusively for the collected edition.
