The television anime adaptation of Kamome Shirahama‘s manga Witch Hat Atelier has been officially greenlit for a second season, the production team announced on Monday. Crunchyroll confirmed it will stream the new season, and the staff also unveiled an endcard image to mark the occasion.

Ayumu Watanabe (Ace Attorney, Doraemon films) directed the anime at BUG FILMS, with Hiroaki Kojima — animation producer on Komi Can’t Communicate — serving as producer. Kairi Unabara (Pokémon Evolutions) handled character design and chief animation direction, while Yuka Kitamura, known for her work on Elden Ring, composed the score.

Theme Songs
Eve and suis perform the opening theme “Kaze no Anthem feat. suis from yorushika”. Nakamura Hak performs the three ending themes: “Tada Utsukushii no Noroi”, “Yoru ni Ukabu”, and “Hikari”.
Broadcast & Streaming
The first season premiered on April 6 on Tokyo MX and other channels. Crunchyroll streamed the series simulcast alongside an English dub.
About the Manga
Shirahama launched Witch Hat Atelier in Kodansha‘s Morning two magazine in July 2016. The 16th compiled volume was released on April 23. Kodansha USA Publishing has been releasing the English edition since April 2019. The series has over 7 million copies in circulation worldwide.
The manga has earned widespread international recognition, including a nomination for Best Comic at the Angoulême International Comics Festival in 2019, a nomination for the 11th Manga Taisho awards in 2018, and a top-10 ranking in the male-reader category of Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2018. It also appeared on the YALSA Top Ten Great Graphic Novels for Teens list in 2020, and won Best Manga at the Harvey Awards in both 2020 and 2025.
