STRICT-G has announced a collaboration with Nishikawa Shouroku Shoten (西川庄六商店), a Japanese fan maker founded in 1585 in Omihachiman, Shiga Prefecture, to produce a line of sensu (traditional folding fans) based on three entries in the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise: Mobile Suit Gundam, Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ, and Mobile Suit Gundam X.
About the Gundam Franchise
Mobile Suit Gundam first aired in 1979 and revolutionised the mecha genre by treating robots — called “mobile suits” — as genuine weapons of war, grounding its story in detailed scientific plausibility and complex human drama. It established the “real robot anime” genre and has maintained enormous popularity both in Japan and internationally for over 40 years.
