JR East has announced the JR East Pokémon Stamp Rally 2026, a collaboration with the Pocket Monsters TV anime series. The event runs from July 16 to August 31, 2026, with prize redemption available until September 1, 2026.
36 Stations, Four Routes
During the event period, stamps featuring Pokémon from the Pocket Monsters anime — including Captain Pikachu and Metamon (Ditto) — will be placed at stations across the JR East network. A total of 36 stations are participating: 35 in the Greater Tokyo area and 1 on the Tokyo Monorail.
Participants can pick up a free Stamp Book (6-Station / Shinkansen Course edition) at major participating stations from July 16, or purchase a Special Edition Stamp Book at select NewDays convenience stores from the same date.
Exclusive Limited-Edition Prizes
The rally is divided into four courses, each offering a unique prize awarded on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last:
- 6-Station Course: Special Ticket-Style Sticker and a Pokémon Frenda Special Extra Treasure Pick featuring Captain Pikachu
- 9-Station Course: Special Neck Strap showcasing the “starter trio” Pokémon from every generation
- 36-Station Course: Special Key Holder
- Shinkansen Course: Special Medal
Both the stamps and prizes are themed around the Pokémon 30th anniversary, with the iconic “starter trio” (旅立ちの3匹) from each generation featured prominently throughout.
Bonus Events and Pokémon Trains
Several tie-in activities accompany the main rally:
- A Honda Koraidon display at OIMACHI TRACKS, approximately a 3-minute walk from JR Oimachi Station
- Limited-run Pokémon Wrapping Trains decorated with Meowscarada, Quaquaval, Skeledirge, Koraidon, and Miraidon on the Yamanote, Keihin-Tohoku, and Chuo Rapid lines
- Photo spots with decorative wall art at Tokyo Station and select other stations, as well as at Waters Takeshiba and OIMACHI TRACKS
- A special layered stamp at Waters Takeshiba — pressing all four stamps together completes a single illustration
- Captain Pikachu greeting events at OIMACHI TRACKS and Waters Takeshiba
- Sun visor giveaways at the 6-Station Course Goal counter
