To mark the upcoming release of Crayon Shin-chan: Kiki Kaikei! Ora no Youkai Bake-shon (映画クレヨンしんちゃん 奇々怪々！オラの妖怪バケ～ション), Anime! Anime! has launched a reader poll asking: “What is your favourite Crayon Shin-chan movie?”
The new film, set to open nationwide in Japan on July 31, is the 33rd entry in the long-running theatrical series. In it, Shinnosuke and his friends stumble into the land of yokai and find themselves caught up in a wild, supernatural adventure.
Over Three Decades of Big-Screen Shin-chan
The Crayon Shin-chan film series has been a fixture of Japanese cinema since 1993, when the first instalment, Action Kamen VS Haigure Maou, kicked things off. A new entry has arrived every year since, spanning everything from the raucous escapades of the Nohara family and the Kasukabe Defense Force to deeply moving stories about family bonds and friendship — giving fans of all ages a favourite to call their own.
