The anime Detective Conan (名探偵コナン), based on the manga by Gosho Aoyama, is set to air a special two-part collaboration episode with Japan’s beloved human-powered aircraft competition, the Toriningen Contest (鳥人間コンテスト). The episode arc is titled “The Toriningen Contest Bombing Case” (鳥人間コンテスト爆破事件).

Story Synopsis
The story kicks off when Beika University — Kogoro’s alma mater — enters the Toriningen Contest for the first time in ten years. Conan, Ran, and Kogoro head to the competition venue, where they run into Heiji and Kazuha, who are also there to watch. The five decide to enjoy the event together.
Meanwhile, Ran and Kazuha encounter a girl named Rin, who is searching for her older brother Yuma — the designer of Beika University’s aircraft. After investigating, Conan and Heiji conclude that Yuma has been kidnapped by an unknown assailant. To make matters worse, Beika University’s aircraft itself appears to be in grave danger…
Collaboration Highlights
Beyond the episode itself, the official Toriningen Contest logo and contestants’ T-shirts have been redesigned in a Conan theme to celebrate the crossover. A collaboration visual and a promotional movie titled “The Detective Squad That Wants to Become Birds” (鳥になりたい探偵団) have also been released.
