Fans of the classic magical-girl franchise Magical Princess Minky Momo are in for a treat. To celebrate the upcoming theatrical OVA Magical Princess Minky Momo: Duo of Sincere Hearts Toward a Dream, set to open across Japan on November 13, 2026, the entire TV anime run — both Season 1 and Season 2 — will be available to watch free of charge on the official KAC YouTube channel “KING AMUSEMENT CREATIVE”, starting August 10, 2026 at 20:00 JST for a limited time.
A Franchise That Redefined Magical-Girl Anime
First broadcast in 1982, Magical Princess Minky Momo won over audiences of all ages with its unconventional scripts and high-quality animation, carving out a unique space as a fantasy series adults could enjoy just as much as children. The franchise led the magical-girl boom of the era, spawned a second TV series in 1991 — Magical Princess Minky Momo: Hold On to Your Dreams — and produced several OVAs over the years. The forthcoming theatrical OVA marks the first all-new production in 32 years.
