To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the TV anime Saiki Kusuo no Ψ-nan, original creator Aso Shuichi has drawn a brand-new 3-panel manga strip, which has now been released to fans.
3-Panel Manga and Fan-Vote Results
In the newly drawn strip, Saiki Kusuo and Toritsuka Reita look back on the decade since the anime first aired. Alongside the manga, the anniversary campaign has also revealed the results of a fan-vote held as a special bonus event. Fans voted across three categories — “Most Exasperating Episode” (やれやれな話), “Most Romantic Episode” (メロいと思う話), and “Most Surprising/Funny Episode” (おっふな話) — with the top three entries in each category announced.
The first-place episode from each category will be available to stream for free on YouTube from August 16 through August 30 at 8:00 p.m. JST. The winning episodes are:
- “Most Exasperating” #1 — Ψ始動編, Episode 6χ5: “Saiki Kusuo no Ψ-kidou (5)”
- “Most Romantic” #1 — Season 2, Episode 2χ4: “Osu! Koi no Hatashijou”
- “Most Surprising/Funny” #1 — Season 2, Episode 17χ5: “Image Change Ψ Girl”
Happy Birthday, Saiki Kusuo — August 16
August 16 also marks the in-universe birthday of protagonist Saiki Kusuo. To celebrate, the official ShoPro Anime YouTube channel and the anime’s official X (Twitter) account have released a special birthday video. Set to “Ψrent Prisoner,” the opening theme of Season 2’s first cour, the video features the screen gradually filling up with images of Saiki until he covers every inch of the frame.
