ABEMA has announced the theme for Week 3 of its special August campaign, “Anime 200 Works Free Every Week” (アニメ毎週200作品無料祭): a Heisei Girls’ Anime Special (平成ガールズアニメ特集). Starting Sunday, August 16, 2026, fans can watch every episode of a lineup of iconic Heisei-era girls’ anime completely free of charge.
About the “200 Anime Free Every Week” Campaign
Running throughout August, the campaign streams around 200 popular anime titles for free across four consecutive weeks, each week centered on a different theme — ranging from fan favorites to currently trending titles.
Week 3: Heisei Girls’ Anime Special
This week’s lineup celebrates the beloved girls’ anime of the Heisei era that have continued to captivate audiences across generations. Highlights include the idol anime phenomenon Aikatsu! (アイカツ！), which captured the imaginations of countless children; the charming slice-of-life series Tamagotchi! (たまごっち！), following the colorful everyday lives of Tamagotchi characters; and the hit manga adaptation Shugo Chara! (しゅごキャラ！), originally serialized in the girls’ manga magazine Nakayoshi.
