ฮายามิ โช นักพากย์เสียงไอเซ็นจาก BLEACH ในโฆษณายะมัคของแมคโดนัลด์ญี่ปุ่น

McDonald’s Japan has set the anime community buzzing after releasing a promotional video for its “Yomac” (夜マック) late-night menu campaign, featuring none other than celebrated voice actor Hayami Sho — and the results were predictably hypnotic.

“Good evening… the moon is beautiful tonight.”

On September 3rd, McDonald’s Japan’s official X (formerly Twitter) account posted the clip alongside the caption “こんばんは…今宵は月が綺麗ですね” (“Good evening… the moon is beautiful tonight”). The video features a mysterious man standing beneath a moonlit night sky, as Hayami’s deep, velvety voice slowly coaxes viewers toward the late-night menu.

BLEACH Fans: “That’s Just Aizen”

Hayami Sho is widely known as the voice behind Aizen Sosuke, the charismatic villain of the BLEACH anime series, whose zanpakuto is Kyoka Suigetsu (鏡花水月) — a blade with the power of complete hypnosis. The moment fans saw a bespectacled man speaking softly about the moon in Hayami’s unmistakable voice, the connection was instant.

Social media quickly filled with reactions, including:

  • “All I can hear is Captain Aizen (lol)”
  • “I think I just got hit by Kyoka Suigetsu”
  • “Complete hypnosis — there’s no escaping it”
  • “Is he seriously using hypnosis to make us order Yomac?”
  • “After hearing that, I have no choice but to go buy Potato Nuggets”

The campaign is a clever example of how tapping into beloved voice talent can turn a simple fast-food ad into a full-blown cultural moment — no actual hypnosis required.
