Kadokawa unveiled the main promotional video, main visual, additional cast and staff members, theme song artists, and an official premiere date of October 3 for the television anime adaptation of Katsuwo‘s manga #I’m Looking For Zombie (#Zombie Sagashitemasu) on Sunday.
Theme Songs
The main promotional video previews the opening theme “Raki Raki” performed by Surii, and the ending theme “Soft Apocalypse” by the band cadode.
Newly Announced Cast
- Yōko Hikasa as Mikazuki, a woman who ventured into the “outside world” before Aki. She arrives at Aki and her friends’ base searching for a separated companion.
- Makoto Koichi as Tōka, a rare female auto mechanic in the outside world whom Haru rescues from a zombie attack.
- Tomoyo Takayanagi as Takamo, the sharp-tongued commander of Ueno Base.
- Aino Shimada as Saigo, Takamo’s 12-year-old younger brother.
- Kōsuke Toriumi as Aki’s father, who made a certain promise before leaving young Aki behind. His current whereabouts and whether he is alive remain unknown.

Shin’ya Une — known for directing Rent-A-Girlfriend season 3 and Teasing Master Takagi-san, and episode directing on D.Gray-man Hallow — helms the series at Studio Comet, with Kyōhei Suzuki (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind, Kiss Him, Not Me) as assistant director. Kenichi Yamashita (Actually, I Am……, The Holy Grail of Eris) and Aki Itami (Forest of Piano, The Comic Artist and His Assistants) are handling series scripts. Narumi Shimoji (Charanpo Land no Bōken film, Ugoku! Neko Mukashi Banashi) is designing the characters, and Kenta Higashiohji (Pole Princess!!, Reborn to Master the Blade) is composing the music.
Broadcast Schedule
The anime premieres on October 3 in the IMAnimation programming block on TV Asahi and 23 affiliated channels, airing every Saturday at 11:30 p.m. JST. It will also broadcast on BS Asahi on October 3 at 1:00 a.m. JST and on AT-X on October 5. In Japan, ABEMA and d Anime Store will stream the series starting October 3 at midnight JST.
About the Source Manga
Katsuwo launched the manga in Kadokawa’s Comic Dengeki DaiohG magazine in June 2022. The third and final volume was published in January 2024. Yen Press announced in July that it will release an English complete omnibus edition under the title #ImLookingForZombies.
Katsuwo is also the creator of Mitsuboshi Colors, which received a TV anime adaptation in January 2018, and Hitori Bocchi no Marumaru Seikatsu, which was adapted into an anime in April 2019.
