The final chapter of Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu (僕の心のヤバイやつ) by Sakurai Norio went live today, September 15, 2026, on Champion Cross, Akita Shoten’s web manga platform. The release marks the end of an eight-year serialization that began in 2018, and is being celebrated with congratulatory illustrations from fellow Champion Cross artists as well as a reader-participation campaign.
About the Series
Affectionately known as Boku Yaba, the series is a bittersweet youth romantic comedy following Ichikawa Kyotaro — a self-described “chuunibyou” loner — and Yamada Anna, the bright and naturally charming girl who seems to exist in a completely different social universe. The story traces their awkward, sweet, and deeply relatable path toward each other.
The manga has been a commercial and critical powerhouse, with cumulative print figures surpassing 7 million copies through volume 13. It claimed the Kono Manga ga Sugoi! (Male Division) award two years running in 2020 and 2021, topped the Tsugi ni Kuru Manga Taisho 2020 Web Manga category, ranked No. 1 in the Anime Japan 2021 “Manga I Want to See Animated” poll, and won the 5th TSUTAYA Comic Award, among numerous other accolades. An anime adaptation is already underway, with Season 3 scheduled for 2027.

Alongside the final chapter, a reader-participation campaign — 「#僕ヤバ祝電 募集キャンペーン」 (“Boku Yaba Congratulatory Telegram Recruitment Campaign”) — has launched. Fans are invited to send messages of thanks, congratulations, or memories of favorite scenes and characters. Selected submissions will be featured in advertisements and promotional videos produced for the release of the final volume 14 on November 6, 2026.
