The production team behind TV anime Kekkaishi no Ichirinka has unveiled the third teaser visual alongside a new teaser PV, this time spotlighting Ichinose Hazuki — the twin elder sister of protagonist Hana — a young woman who grew up shouldering the weight of her parents’ expectations.

The teaser PV also offers a glimpse into the bittersweet past of heroine Ichinose Hana, who was labelled a “failure” from childhood and forced to conceal her hidden powers, while hinting at her determination to finally live life on her own terms.

Five additional cast members were announced alongside the teaser PV:

Previously announced cast includes Kito Akari as Ichinose Hana and Toya Kikunosuke as Ichinomiya Saku.

Takao Kanon (Ichinose Hazuki)

I was drawn into this work from the very first audition, and I especially empathised with Hazuki, so I am overjoyed to have been given this role. I will do my utmost to carefully portray the subtle shifts in her emotions.

Shimizu Daito (Ichinomiya Nozomu)

He’s a textbook tsundere with a brother complex — prickly on the outside but genuinely honest in unguarded moments. Every little thing he does is charming, and I found myself thinking “what a great character” many times while recording. I hope everyone enjoys his appeal!

Tamuki Yuzuki (Azuha)

Azuha is Hana’s very first shikigami — an insect-type spirit who looks beautiful and elegant but is actually dreamy and adorable in everyday life, while also being dependable when it counts. She absolutely adores her master. I hope everyone falls for Hana and Saku while also showering Azuha with love!

Kimura Taifu (Aoi)

Aoi is a sweet character who cares deeply for his master. He comes across like a little brother in everyday life, but when battle breaks out he cuts down demons without hesitation. I’ll do my best to portray him as a member of the family who is always by Hana’s side.

M·A·O (Miyabi)

Miyabi is Hana’s shikigami who reveres and gently supports her master at all times, yet deals with threats coldly and with a smile. She is completely devoted to her master. As a celestial maiden–type shikigami, I was conscious of expressing both her graceful elegance and the occasional glimpse of innocent playfulness. Please look forward to her!

About the Series

Kekkaishi no Ichirinka is based on a novel by Kureha, known for Oni no Hanayome, published under Kadokawa Bunko. The story is a Japanese-style romantic fantasy following Ichinose Hana, a girl who has long been overshadowed and belittled in comparison to her talented twin sister. When the young head of the Ichinomiya clan, Ichinomiya Saku, pressures her into a contract marriage, it becomes the catalyst for her journey to live as her true self.
