The production team behind the upcoming anime Tempal ~The Power of the Item~ has released the synopsis and advance scene cuts for Episode 1, “Legendary Job Change,” which is scheduled to broadcast on Friday, October 2, 2026.
About the Series
Tempal ~The Power of the Item~ is adapted from a WEBTOON created by Team Argo (art), Monohumbug of REDICE STUDIO (adaptation), and Saenal of MAYA&MARU (original novel). The story is a fantasy underdog tale about an ordinary person who rises to become a legend. The anime is directed by Ayako Kono and produced by J.C.STAFF.
Story Overview
<SATISFY> is the world’s most popular VR game, boasting two billion players globally. What makes it unique is that wealth and fame earned inside the game carry real-world consequences. Takumi Nagamine, who goes by the in-game name Greed, is a down-on-his-luck player determined to turn his life around through the game.
After clearing an extremely difficult quest, Greed obtains a Legendary Item that allows him to change his job class to <Descendant of Fagma> — a legendary blacksmith lineage. The catch: he must restart from a negative level with almost no equipment. Undeterred, Greed reasons, “If I can’t find powerful items, I’ll just make them!” and sets out to shake the world of <SATISFY> through the power of item crafting.
Episode 1 Synopsis — “Legendary Job Change”
<SATISFY> is the world’s largest VR game, where in-game fame and fortune have a profound impact on real life. Greed — real name Takumi Nagamine — is a player chasing a life-changing windfall. He takes on an S-rank quest commissioned by Count Ashuroo deep inside a cave at the far northern reaches of the game world.
Struggling under the crushing pressure of in-game monetization, Greed finally manages to obtain a Legendary Item: the <Fagma’s Mysterious Tome>, a book that grants access to the one-of-a-kind job class <Descendant of Fagma>.
Greed considers selling the tome for more than the quest reward, but doing so constitutes a breach of contract — and the Count immediately puts a bounty on his head. With nowhere to run, Greed makes the snap decision to use the tome and change his job class. The result: a restart from a negative level, with almost nothing to his name…
