The Dengeki Bunko Fall Festival Online 2026 announced on Saturday that Takuma Sakai‘s light novel series Delta to Gamma no Rigakubu Note (The Science Notes by Delta and Gamma) is receiving an anime adaptation.
Announcement Video and Artists
The announcement video features artwork by the light novels’ illustrator Asagi Tōsaka, with Kanna Nakamura voicing the character Rio Iwama. Lap Tsutsumi, the artist behind the series’ manga adaptation, also drew a special illustration to commemorate the announcement.
Story
The light novel series follows the members of the science club at Tsunagai High School as they work to unravel the mysteries surrounding their everyday lives, alongside a heartfelt story of first love.
Publication and Manga
- Kadokawa released the first novel volume, illustrated by Asagi Tōsaka, in November 2024, with the fourth volume scheduled for October 9.
- Tsutsumi launched the manga adaptation in Kadokawa’s Comic Dengeki DaiohG magazine on April 27.
About the Author
Sakai is also known for the Buta no Liver wa Kanetsu Shiro (Butareba: The Story of a Man Turned into a Pig) novel series, which he launched in March 2020 after winning the gold prize at the 26th Dengeki Novel Prize in 2019 — also illustrated by Tōsaka. That series inspired a television anime that premiered in October 2023, and a manga adaptation has been running in Kadokawa’s Dengeki Maoh magazine since August 2020. J-Novel Club publishes both the novels and manga in English.
