The production team behind the new Magic Knight Rayearth (魔法騎士レイアース) TV anime has released the synopsis and preview scene cuts for Episode 1, “From Another World” (異世界より), which is set to air on October 7, 2026.
A CLAMP Classic Returns After More Than 30 Years
Magic Knight Rayearth is one of the signature works of the celebrated creative collective CLAMP, originally serialized as a manga in Kodansha’s Nakayoshi magazine. The story follows three girls thrust into an otherworldly adventure filled with grand world-building and beloved characters. More than 30 years after the original TV anime aired from 1994 to 1995, the franchise is receiving a brand-new anime adaptation.
The new series is directed by Miura Yui and animated by E&H production. It will run for two consecutive cours, airing every Wednesday at 11:45 p.m. in the “IMAnimation W” block on TV Asahi’s nationwide network.
Episode 1 Synopsis: “From Another World”
The story begins when Shidou Hikaru, a second-year middle school student, visits Tokyo Tower on a school field trip. There she encounters Ryuuzaki Umi and Fuji-shima Fuu, students from different schools. The moment the three strangers lock eyes, a mysterious voice rings out: “Please save this world, legendary Magic Knights——” The girls are pulled into another dimension and find themselves in a world unlike anything they have ever seen.
There they learn that Princess Emeraude, who has long protected the world of Cephiro through the power of prayer, has been taken captive, plunging the world into crisis. Summoned by the princess herself, the three girls must discover whether they can truly become the legendary Magic Knights and save both the princess and Cephiro.
