Fans of Chiikawa (ちいかわ) have a major event to look forward to this winter. The Chiikawa Christmas Market has been officially announced, set to take place at Toyosuna Park — located in front of AEON Mall Makuhari Shintoshin in Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture — from November 24 to December 25, 2026. The event will be open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with the final admission slot running from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m.
About Chiikawa
Chiikawa is a manga created by illustrator Nagano, originally serialized on X (formerly Twitter) beginning in 2020. The series follows the charming, bittersweet, and occasionally tough daily lives of characters including Chiikawa, Hachiware, and Usagi, and has amassed a devoted readership. The anime adaptation, which began airing in 2022, has surpassed 500 million views in catch-up streaming on YouTube. The franchise’s first theatrical film, Chiikawa the Movie: Secret of the Mermaid Island — adapting the fan-favourite “Siren Arc” — is currently in cinemas and had already earned 17.17 billion yen at the box office as of October 4.

Photo Spots
Visitors will be greeted at the entrance by an oversized pop-up-style Christmas card and a wreath-shaped welcome gate designed in Chiikawa’s likeness. At the heart of the venue stands a roughly 6-metre-tall Christmas tree, serving as the backdrop for a special light, video, and sound show that tells an original story of the characters preparing for Christmas. Elsewhere, giant balloons of Chiikawa, Hachiware, and Usagi — each standing approximately 3 metres tall — a snow globe installation, and a decorative merry-go-round (for viewing and photography only) round out the photo opportunities throughout the grounds.
Food Market
The food area will feature a Christmas Hütte (market hut) stocked with 35 menu items inspired by the Chiikawa universe, including:
- Melting Cream Hot Cocoa (とろけるクリームのほっとココア)
- Subjugation Churros (討伐チュロス)
- Hachiware’s Christmas Wreath Doughnut (ハチワレのクリスマスリースドーナツ)
- Usagi’s Pistachio Mont Blanc (うさぎのピスタチオモンブラン)
Limited Merchandise
A dedicated goods area will offer exclusive items available only at the event, including Santa-costumed mascots, plush toys, snow globes, and a moving Christmas card set — all themed around the Chiikawa characters.
Workshops and Mini-Games
The Yoroi-san Market zone lets attendees mix and match parts to create their own custom key charm. Interactive activities include a candy ring-toss to decorate a tree (Candy Wanage) and a cookie-weighing challenge (Cookie Hakari Challenge), designed to be enjoyed by visitors of all ages.
Tickets and Freebies
Entry will be sold as date-and-time-designated tickets. Every ticket purchaser will receive a pop-up Christmas card as a gift and will be entitled to one free spin of a giant gacha machine on-site, with a chance to win one of 16 randomly selected ornament designs.
