The TV anime Detective Conan (名探偵コナン) aired the finale of its “Akane-iro no Senshūraku (Dairaku)” arc on October 10, delivering the moment fans had waited years for: Hattori Heiji finally confessing his feelings to Toyama Kazuha and the two officially becoming a couple.
A Long Time Coming
The “Akane-iro no Senshūraku” arc ran for three consecutive weeks beginning September 26, centering on the relationship between Heiji and Kazuha. In the climactic Dairaku episode, after Heiji solves the case, he takes Kazuha to the observation deck of Naniwa Harukas and, in a moment of unguarded honesty, lets his true feelings slip — which Kazuha overhears, leading to the two finally acknowledging their mutual love.
To celebrate, a special “Congratulations! Heiji ♡ Kazuha” PV was released, looking back at the couple’s journey from the beginning through the Dairaku episode. Voice cast comments also arrived from both leads.

“Finally!! Heiji’s confession worked and they’re together at last! Everyone around them already knew they liked each other, but they still had to go competing with Big Ben to find the perfect scenic spot — it took so long! It felt like 25 years of waiting even though it’s only been about half a year in the story. Lately Kazuha had almost given up, which was a little heartbreaking, so I’m really glad it worked out. Special Spot at Harukas 300 and Osaka Events
From October 11, the Harukas 300 observation deck atop Abeno Harukas in Osaka will host a special experience spot where visitors can re-live Heiji and Kazuha’s confession. Footprints marking where the two characters stood in the anime are installed on the floor, and the actual audio from the scene plays alongside.
Additionally, inside the descending elevator from the observation floor, a special voice recording — featuring brand-new dialogue written by original creator Gosho Aoyama — will begin broadcasting. It captures the conversation Heiji and Kazuha share in the elevator on their way back down after the confession.
