The theatrical film Gekijōban 40 Made ni Shitai 10 no Koto, based on the manga by Mamita, has unveiled its first teaser footage alongside the announcement that sumika will provide the theme song — an original composition titled “Taisetsu” (大切).
Story and Teaser
Set for release on January 22, 2027, the film picks up where the story left off: Jūjō Suzume, an around-40 boss who has finally completed her “10 Things to Do Before 40” list, and her handsome subordinate Tanaka Keiji, ten years her junior, now face a new chapter together. The teaser shows the two navigating the irreplaceable everyday moments between them — occasional misunderstandings, fresh challenges, and an awkward but genuine affection — all set to sumika’s new theme.
Theme Song “Taisetsu” by sumika
sumika vocalist and songwriter Kataoka Kenta, who wrote and composed the track, shared the following comment:
“When you’re in love, you sometimes act in ways you can’t even explain to yourself, swept up in emotions you can’t name. Moving back and forth between an adult’s true feelings and the face they show the world, I wrote a song that says: ‘Even so, no matter how I think about it, this person is precious to me.’ I’d be happy if we could walk side by side with Suzume, Keiji, and everyone who loves this story, as we each become more honest with our own ‘right now.'”
Visual Book and Scenario Book
An official visual book covering both the film and the TV drama, along with a scenario book for the film, will go on sale simultaneously on January 27, 2027. Pre-orders open on November 6. Further details are available on the work’s official social media accounts and on publisher Libre‘s official website.
