The theatrical film Eiga Chiikawa: Ningyo no Shima no Himitsu (Chiikawa: Secrets of the Mermaid Island), based on the original work by Nagano, will distribute its 7th admission gift starting October 24. The gift is a holographic clear card handed out at random, featuring newly drawn illustrations by Nagano created exclusively for this occasion.

Four Designs Capturing “Memories of That Day”

The clear card set consists of four designs:

  • Chiikawa, Hachiware, and Usagi exploring the island together
  • Futaba sleeping in a hammock while Hitoha watches over them
  • The Siren alongside three mermaids
  • A gallant Shimajiro riding the waves

Each card is designed to feel like a snapshot of moments not seen in the film itself — a glimpse into the characters’ own private memories from that day on the island.

Box Office: 18.1 Billion Yen in 87 Days

The film adapts the long-form “Siren Arc” from the original Chiikawa manga, following Chiikawa and friends as they join an island retreat and find themselves caught up in a plan to defeat a Siren that has been abducting the island’s inhabitants one by one.

Released on July 24, the film recorded a cumulative box office gross of 18.1 billion yen and an audience of 12.42 million over its first 87 days through October 18 — a landmark achievement for the Chiikawa franchise.
