The official website for the short-format television anime adaptation of Yuka Ōshima‘s manga Haru to Gen ~70-sai, Hajimete Kosodate~ (Haru and Gen: Raising a Child for the First Time at 70) released a new teaser promotional video on Wednesday, revealing the series’ voice cast and confirming its premiere date.

Synopsis
The story follows Gen, a 70-year-old man who has lived alone ever since his wife and daughter became estranged from him following a divorce years ago. When his only daughter passes away from illness, Gen is entrusted with the care of his three-year-old granddaughter, Haru. Having neglected his family in the past, Gen must now navigate the challenges — and unexpected joys — of raising a child for the very first time.

Staff
Kōdai Satō (Tom to Jerry Gokko) is directing the anime, produced at IMAGICA Infos and Imageworks Studio in collaboration with Studio Nanahoshi. Taeko Miura (Kanagawa Elves, Hyakki Yakou Shou) is serving as sound director, while Maki Takuma (After-School Hanako-kun, Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club) handles sound effects. bermei.inazawa (Potion, Waga Mi o Tasukeru, Marukano) is composing the score. RD is overseeing sound production, and Kazuya Takahashi (Love and Lies, Saiyuki Reload Blast) serves as executive producer.
About the Manga
Ōshima launched the manga in December 2022 on Kadokawa’s TATESC Comic platform, a vertical-scrolling full-color webcomic label. Kadokawa published the first compiled volume in March 2024.
