Story & Highlights

In the world of Magilumiere, magical girls are corporate employees contracted to neutralise kaii — naturally occurring supernatural disasters. Sakuragi Kana, a shy but exceptionally sharp-memoried young woman who struggled through job-hunting, is scouted for her latent talent and joins the startup Magilumiere. Alongside senior colleague Koshigaya Hitomi and a colourful team of coworkers, she takes on kaii extermination jobs while navigating the realities of office life.

Season 2 picks up six months after Kana’s first day. Magilumiere sets out to roll out its proprietary “Alice System” — which lets magical girls requisition the spells they need on the fly — across the wider industry, while tackling newly emerging kaii variants. New locations such as the Magical Technology Research Institute and the Tonomori Shrine in Kyoto are introduced, along with fresh characters.

Key Highlights

  • Magical girls as office workers — Pre-mission prep, inter-company rivalry, and on-site teamwork give the series a distinctly workplace-drama flavour.
  • A protagonist who earns her place — Kana relies on memory and hard work rather than raw power, growing steadily with the support of senior Hitomi and company president Shigemoto Koji.
  • Season 2 music — Opening theme “Latte Magic” by syudou × Yagi Yusei (FANTASTICS); ending theme “BooooM!!!” by Houshou Marine (Hololive).
