The official X account for the upcoming Netflix anime Fool Night has kicked off a mysterious three-day countdown, posting an unsettling video on November 2 that teases new information to be revealed on November 5 at 8:00 PM JST.
The first countdown video features an eerie melody alongside the provocative message: “Would you offer your body to become a flower, for the environment and for everyone, in exchange for 10 million yen in support funds?” — a question that perfectly encapsulates the series’ dark, dystopian premise.
About Fool Night
Based on the manga by Yasuda Kasumi (first volume published March 2021 by Shogakukan), Fool Night is set in a distant future Earth where humanity barely survives on oxygen produced through a technology called “Tenka” (転花) — a process that implants seeds into human bodies, transforming them into plants. Against this bleak backdrop, a young man named Kamiya Toshiro chooses to walk the path of becoming a “Reika” (霊花) — a plant that has taken on human form.
The anime is set to stream exclusively worldwide on Netflix on November 26, 2026, with all episodes dropping simultaneously.
