Amasian TV, ODK Media’s North American streaming platform, announced on Tuesday that it is now offering the second and third seasons of the Hyakushō Kizoku (The Peasant Noble) television anime with Japanese audio and English subtitles for viewers in the United States. Both seasons are available to watch on demand completely free, with no subscription needed.
Based on Hiromu Arakawa’s Autobiographical Manga
The anime adapts the autobiographical manga by Hiromu Arakawa, best known for Fullmetal Alchemist. The story draws from Arakawa’s own life, during which she spent seven years working as a farmer in Hokkaido before embarking on her career as a manga creator. Those experiences also served as the foundation for her later series Silver Spoon, which follows students at an agricultural high school.
Season History and Upcoming Plans
The first season of the Hyakushō Kizoku anime premiered on Tokyo MX in July 2023, with each episode running approximately four minutes. The manga’s eighth compiled volume, released in December 2023, bundled all 12 aired first-season episodes along with two previously unaired episodes on DVD. The third season ran from October 3 through December 19. A fourth season has already been confirmed.

About the Manga
Arakawa launched the manga in Shinshokan’s Unpoko magazine in 2006. After Unpoko ceased publication, the series moved to Shinshokan’s Wings magazine in 2009, where it continues to run on an irregular schedule. Shinshokan released the seventh compiled volume in October 2021. The manga was previously published in English by JManga.
