The production team behind Ascendance of a Bookworm Part 3: Adopted Daughter of an Archduke — the latest television anime based on Miya Kazuki‘s Honzuki no Gekokujō light novel series — announced on Saturday that Kaede Hondo has joined the cast as Charlotte. The anime’s official website also unveiled a climax promotional video for the series.
Broadcast & Streaming
The anime premiered on April 4 on Yomiuri TV and NTV at 5:30 p.m. JST. It is airing across two consecutive cours for a half-year run. Crunchyroll is streaming the series with English subtitles and an English dub.
Kana Nishino performs the opening theme “Power of Love,” while adieu — the musical stage name of actress Moka Kamishiraishi — performs the second cour’s ending theme “Wanna me.”
New & Returning Cast
Yuka Iguchi and Show Hayami reprise their roles as Rozemyne (formerly Myne) and Ferdinand, respectively. The new cast additions are:

Staff
Wit Studio is producing the new series, with Yoshiaki Iwasaki (Kowloon Generic Romance, Hayate the Combat Butler, We Never Learn: BOKUBEN) stepping in as director, replacing franchise veteran Mitsuru Hongō. Mariko Kunisawa returns as series script writer, Aiko Minowa (After the Rain, The Ancient Magus’ Bride in-between animation) takes over as character designer, and MICHIRU returns to compose the score.
First-Part Theme Songs
Little Glee Monster performs the first part’s opening theme “Pages,” and Nogizaka46 member Erika Ikuta performs the ending theme “Ima mo, Arigatō” (“Even Now, I Thank You”).
Series Background
The first anime season aired from October to December 2019 (14 episodes), the second season premiered in April 2020, and the third season in April 2022 — all streamed by Crunchyroll. Kazuki originally published the web novel on “Shōsetsuka ni Narō” from 2013 to 2017; You Shiina illustrates the print edition. The main series concluded with its 33rd volume (Part 5, Vol. 12) in December 2023, and the franchise now has over 13 million copies in circulation including digital editions. J-Novel Club publishes the light novels and select manga adaptations in English.
