The production team behind Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity — the fourth and final part of the Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War anime — announced on Saturday that voice actor Yūki Kaji portrays the Complete Bankai version of Tōshirō Hitsugaya. Viz Media released an English-subtitled clip capturing the character’s first appearance in episode 44.
Story Coverage
The Calamity adapts the remainder of Tite Kubo’s original manga through its conclusion. The Thousand-Year Blood War arc is the manga’s final arc, spanning volumes 55 through 74. The anime as a whole is structured across four cours with breaks between each part.
Broadcast & Streaming
Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity premiered on July 25 on TV Tokyo at 11:00 p.m. JST. Subsequent broadcast slots followed on BS TV Tokyo (July 27), AT-X (August 2), Hiroshima TV and Niigata Broadcasting (August 4), and Sendai Broadcasting (August 10). Japanese streaming services began carrying the series from July 26 at noon.
Ahead of the broadcast premiere, Viz Media and Fathom Entertainment held a theatrical screening of the first three episodes across 943 U.S. cinemas from June 25–29, offered in both Japanese with English subtitles and in English dub. The screenings included an exclusive behind-the-scenes conversation featuring creator Tite Kubo, chief series director Tomohisa Taguchi, and series director Hikaru Murata.
The anime streams on Hulu in the United States, on Disney+ internationally, and through Ani-One Asia across much of Asia.

Series Timeline
The anime’s first cour aired from October to December 2022, closing with a one-hour special combining episodes 12 and 13. The second cour launched in July 2023 on Hulu (U.S.), Star+ (Latin America), and Disney+ (select international markets). Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3 – The Conflict ran from October 2024 and wrapped with a one-hour finale in December of that year.
