Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 made a splashy debut at Anime Expo, where the first episode received a premiere screening with its English dub. The series is set to stream on Netflix this fall.

Kai Ikarashi — a storyboard artist, animation director, animator, and prop designer on the first series — steps up to direct Edgerunners 2 in what marks his feature directorial debut. Returning alongside him are:

Story and Format
The staff describe the new series as a standalone 10-episode story set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077:
A raw chronicle of redemption and revenge. When the world is blinded by spectacle, what extremes do you have to go to make your story matter?
Background and Home Video
The original Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, produced by Studio Trigger and based on CD PROJEKT RED‘s Cyberpunk 2077 game — itself derived from Mike Pondsmith‘s Cyberpunk tabletop RPG series — debuted on Netflix in September 2022.
Aniplex of America will release a complete Blu-ray Disc set in North America on October 28. Anime Limited and Plaion Pictures will handle the European home video release, while Sugoi Co will distribute the series in Australia and New Zealand.
Prequel Manga
A prequel manga, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Madness, illustrated by Asano (known for the BNA: Brand New Animal manga) and written by Bartosz Sztybor, launched on the Comic Alive+ website in December 2024. The title is being released in seven languages beyond Japanese, with Dark Horse handling the English print edition.
