The production team behind the TV anime Dark Gathering (ダークギャザリング) has released the second installment of its “Horror Visual” series for Season 2. The atmospheric artwork depicts the Kubizuka Daimyojin (首塚大明神) shrine in Kyoto shrouded in thick, creeping fog — a location described in the series as a “demon’s lair” and the central setting for the upcoming season.
About the Series and Season 2
Based on the manga by Kondo Kenichi, serialized in Shueisha’s Jump SQ., Dark Gathering is an occult horror story following Gentogake Keitaro, a university student whose body acts as a spiritual medium. His life takes a dark turn when he meets Hozuki Yayoi, a mysterious girl with unusual eyes, while working as her private tutor.
Season 2 shifts the story’s setting from Tokyo to Kyoto, adapting content beginning with chapter #34 “Joraku” from volume 9 of the manga, as the characters venture into the ominous Kubizuka Daimyojin shrine.
