Catching the Latest Episode for Free

Doraemon airs on the TV Asahi network every Saturday at 5:00 p.m. After broadcast, the latest episode is available for a limited time as a free catch-up stream on TVer and ABEMA. The official YouTube channel 「【公式】ドラえもん / 藤子・F・不二雄チャンネル」 also makes select episodes available for free. For access to older episodes, a paid streaming subscription is recommended.

Story & Highlights

Doraemon follows Nobita Nobi, an elementary-school boy who struggles with both studies and sports. One day, a cat-shaped robot from the future named Doraemon arrives, carrying a four-dimensional pocket on his belly filled with all manner of “secret gadgets.” Nobita constantly borrows these gadgets to solve everyday problems, but his carelessness and overconfidence inevitably turn each situation into a bigger mess than before.

The series’ charm lies in the “what if?” fun that each gadget brings, alongside the warmth of friendship and family woven into every episode. Most stories are self-contained, making it easy to jump in at any point.

The opening theme is 「夢をかなえてドラえもん」 performed by mao, and the ending theme is 「もしものがたり」 by Tani Yuuki. A theatrical Doraemon film is released every spring; the 2026 entry is Doraemon the Movie: Nobita’s New Undersea Fortress of Steel (映画ドラえもん 新・のび太の海底鬼岩城).
