The world’s first official Doraemon shop, Doraemon Mirai Department (ドラえもん未来デパート), is set for a major renovation and will reopen on December 1, 2026. The revamped store will adopt a “secret gadgets (ひみつ道具)” theme throughout its interior, alongside a range of limited-edition merchandise created especially for the occasion.
About the Store
Doraemon Mirai Department first opened on December 1, 2019, at DiverCity Tokyo Plaza in Odaiba, Tokyo, with the concept of “helping your future become just a little bit better.” As the world’s first official Doraemon shop, it has offered original and licensed Doraemon merchandise ever since. The 2026 renewal coincides with the store’s 7th anniversary.
A New Look Inspired by Secret Gadgets
The redesign is the most sweeping overhaul since the store’s opening. The ceiling will be adorned with neon-style decorations depicting iconic secret gadgets, including the Takecopter, the Anywhere Door, and the Time Furoshiki. The entrance will greet visitors with artwork based on the cover of Volume 1 of the Tentou Mushi Comics edition, immersing fans in the world of Doraemon from the moment they walk in.
New Limited-Edition Merchandise
A lineup of exclusive items inspired by the store’s new neon aesthetic will launch alongside the reopening. Key highlights include:
- Glow-in-the-dark soft vinyl figures (蓄光ソフビフィギュア) — they actually light up in the dark
- Tote bags, pouches, and keychains featuring neon-inspired designs for everyday use
- A Small Light (スモールライト) desktop lamp that actually illuminates, bringing the iconic gadget to life
- A desktop humidifier shaped like Doraemon taking a bath — a perfect pick for the coming cold season
7th Anniversary Purchase Bonus
To celebrate the reopening and the store’s 7th anniversary, customers who spend ¥8,000 (tax included) or more in a single transaction will receive a non-sale “7th Anniversary Pins Neon Line” pin badge as a gift — limited to one per person, while supplies last, starting December 1, 2026.
