SNK has released a new animated trailer for its fighting game Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves to mark the arrival of DLC character Kim Kaphwan, who joined the roster on the same day the trailer went live.
Veteran anime creator Masami Ōbari — known for Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture, The King of Fighters XV, and Battle Arena Toshinden — returned as director and creative producer, continuing his work on the game’s previous animated trailers. Studio G-1 Neo handled animation production.
Kim Kaphwan is voiced in English by June Yoon and in Japanese by Kunihiro Kawamoto. Alongside the trailer, SNK also released a character guide and background music (BGM) for Kim.
Season 3 Lineup and Upcoming Characters
Season 3 launched on July 23 with six new characters. Rick Strowd joined on July 23, followed by Duck King on August 27. In October, Manjiro Sano and Ken Ryuguji from the Tokyo Revengers anime will arrive as Season 3 DLC characters. Laocorn is set for November, with a mystery character rounding out the season in December.
Season Pass 1 and Season Pass 2 Recap
Season Pass 1 brought a crossover with Street Fighter, adding Ken and Chun-Li alongside Andy Bogard (June 2025), Joe Higashi (October 2025), and MR. BIG (December 2025).
Season Pass 2 kicked off with Kim Jae Hoon (January 22), followed by Nightmare Geese (February 26), Blue Mary (March 26), Wolfgang Krauser (April 24, coinciding with the game’s first anniversary), Mr. Karate (May 27), and Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star (June 28).
The game’s roster also features real-life DJ Salvatore Ganacci, soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, and Hokutomaru. Returning fan favorites include Terry Bogard, Rock Howard, Tizoc, Hotaru Futaba, Marco Rodrigues, B. Jenet, Kevin Rian, Billy Kane, Mai Shiranui, Kim Dong Hwan, and Gato. Brand-new characters created for this entry are Preecha and Vox Reaper.
About the Fatal Fury Franchise
Fatal Fury (known in Japan as Garō Densetsu) is one of SNK’s most iconic fighting game franchises and the birthplace of beloved characters such as Terry Bogard, Andy Bogard, Mai Shiranui, Blue Mary, and Geese Howard. The original Fatal Fury: King of Fighters debuted in arcades in 1991, and the previous installment, Garou: Mark of the Wolves, launched in 1999 — making City of the Wolves the first new entry in over two decades. SNK first announced the game at the EVO tournament in 2022.
The franchise also inspired three anime productions: the Fatal Fury: Legend of the Hungry Wolf OVA (1992), Fatal Fury 2: The New Battle OVA (1993), and Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture (1994). Masami Ōbari contributed character designs to all three and directed the third. All are currently available through Discotek Media.
