The official X (formerly Twitter) account for the Firefly Wedding television anime — based on the manga by Oreko Tachibana — announced a new cast member on Thursday: Kanon Amane will voice Yukari, a courtesan at the “Isekichi” brothel.

The previously announced leads are Lynn as Satoko Kirigaya and Kōki Uchiyama as Shinpei Gotō. Additional cast members include Kent Itō as Kōtarō Ogawa and Kenjirō Tsuda as Mitsueda.

Story
Satoko appears to have everything going for her — beauty, noble birth, and the right age for marriage. But she is gravely ill and has little time left. Before she can arrange a match that would prove her worth to her family, she becomes the target of the mysterious assassin Shinpei, upending all her plans. In a desperate bid to survive, she proposes marriage to him. For Shinpei, however, the vow “until death do us part” is no mere formality.
About the Manga
Tachibana launched Firefly Wedding on Shogakukan’s Manga ONE app in January 2023. Shogakukan published the 12th compiled volume on June 19. Viz Media publishes the manga in English. A live-action television adaptation is also in development and is slated to debut in 2027.
