Volume 11 of the manga Gaslight Stray Dogs Detective Club (ガス灯野良犬探偵団) went on sale on June 18, and to mark the occasion, voice comics for the series’ first two episodes have been released simultaneously.
About the Series
The manga is based on an original story by Yugo Aosaki and illustrated by Toshimitsu Matsubara. Set in late-19th-century London, the story unfolds in an underground world widely described as the city’s “dumping ground.”
The protagonist, Ryuei, is a street urchin who scrapes by shining shoes on the roadside. His world is shattered when Nina — a fellow orphan he considers family — is murdered by an unknown assailant. The police quickly rule that Nina was killed while attempting a robbery, but Ryuei refuses to accept their verdict.
Driven by a desire for revenge and the truth, Ryuei sets out to investigate and crosses paths with the detective Sherlock Holmes. Despite his deep contempt for Holmes’s indifference toward the lower classes, Ryuei resolves to work under him as a hunting dog — all to protect the street children of London.
